
ROPE RESCUE TECHNICIAN LEVEL 1
Our rope rescue technician level 1 course is an intense, 40-hour training in rope rescue fundamentals, focusing on the proficiency of an individual’s knowledge and skills as required for NFPA 1006: 2013 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications, Chapter 6, (6.1 – 6.2.4) Level I. It includes classroom and practical training, at the end of which a practical assessment will be conducted to ensure trainees meet or exceed the required standards. Course Content: Equipment introduction, selection, inspection and maintenance, knots and anchors, simple mechanical advantage systems, raising and lowering systems, patient packaging, basket rigging, rappelling with various descending devices, knot passing through rappels, 3 rd man pick off, guided line litter lower and team based scenarios.
